I love fermented raw beets, and I believe the healthy bacteria use the beet sugar as fuel. So, when I eat them, they are low sugar and low carb. Any thoughts?

Oh wow! I was doing research on Keto and kimchi and found your page. I don't know if you remember me, but I use to got to school with your children at Chesapeake Ability School. I also went to your practice in Virgina with my parents. I remember your wife and at the time two sons and daughter. Our families were at party at the pool and your daughter fell in, and my mom jumped in after her. I'm ecstatic I found you! You helped me as a child and now in my adult years.😀 Do you still have a practice where I can come see you?

wait a second, american greek yogurt has 12g of sugar per serving? what the f in your food?… in Germany a container has only 6g and with 14g it's pretty great for keto. Holy .. I can only wonder what the FDA is allowing in your foods..

Dr Berg, no disrespect but you’re incorrect about Kefir and Kombucha. Please research it further. Follow Donna Schwenk. Homemade Kefir and Kombucha is key. The fermenting process eats the sugar/lactose leaving minimal amounts. What little remains the fermented/probiotics continue to eat the sugar in your gut. The insulin spike on homemade Kefir/Kombucha is next to nothing. I used to be Diabetic and I’ve been on Keto for 13 months. I make my own Kefir (Coconut Milk Kefir is my favorite) and Kombucha and not once has it affected my blood ketone levels. The probiotic benefits of Kefir is AMAZING!! Use a trilogy of ferments Kefir, Kombucha, and fermented veggies for the best gut health you’ve ever had!

Dr. Berg, hi! Regarding Kefir, what if I make my own homemade with organic grass fed whole milk from the brand organic valley, is it still high in sugar? I’m learning lots from you, I wish I had known about these things earlier. But, it’s never too late, right? Thank you!!!

I understood that the kefir grains ate the lactose in the milk making it ok to drink! Am I wrong? I love my kefir and drink it daily while trying to do the keto diet…😩 same goes for kombucha… I make my own kefir and kombucha. Does making my own kefir and controlling the sugar in my kombucha make a difference?
